A bison and an elk live in the same habitat and feed on the same grasses does this mean that the competitive exclusion principle does not apply? explain

Competitive exclusion principle works where the resource is limited. Here both bison and elk feed on the grasses since there is much resource enough for them. If there is deficiency the fittest will tend to dominate and lead to elimination of weakest in foraging. So here there is no situation for a competitive exclusion.
