Where in the human body would you find cells with a large number of mitochondria? why?

Myocytes or also called as muscle cells have a huge amount of mitochondria because these specialized cells are linked with high cellular activity which require immense amounts of cellular energy. This cellular energy or adenosine triphosphate is generared through the organelle, mitochondria.
