how might your body be affected if a certain gland made too much releasing hormone that stimulates the thyroid?

There is a negative effect on the pituitary gland and because of this, there will be less production of thyroid stimulating hormone. Hyperthyroidism can cause weight loss, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), thyroid enlargement, proptosis (bulging eyeballs).
