Sally had 2/9 of a cup of pudding as a snack after school and she had 1/4 of a cup of pudding as dessert after dinner. Sally estimated that that she had about of a cup of pudding today. Is Sally's estimate reasonable?

Sally had about a half cup of pudding. If you make both numbers have the same denominator, you would get 8/36 and 9/36. Add them together, and you get 17/36, which is almost half.
