Pâté is a mixture of cooked ground meat and fat minced into a spreadable paste. sometimes vegetable, herbs and spices are added. It is associated with many countries because of its variation but it could be said that it has French origines. but it is also popular in Finland, Germany, Romania, Hungary, Sweden, Denmark ,Austria, Poland and Russia.
