In the first half of the story, Leota is excited about her new friend, the lovely and charming Mrs. Pike. In the second half, however, she has turned against her. What changed Leota’s mind about Mrs. Pike? What does this say about Leota’s character?

Leota had to be upset that Mrs.Pike turned against her so her mind changed from being excited to being upset. It says that Leota is not mindful of her friends that she makes.
