Tascha is on a medication that increases the pH of the stomach and makes it alkaline. What is the effect of this medication?

Ph is a quantitative measure of the hydrogen ions representing the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Therefore anything that lowers Ph is an acid and anything that raises it is a base. The level of the acid in the stomach is usually in the 1-3 range, but usually closer to 2 empty and 5 full. So the medication Tascha is on, is a base. So I would say the effect would be to raise Ph of the gastric acid without reducing gastric acid secretion.
