A squirrel runs 3.4 meters east and then 6.9 meters south, then another 5.2 meters east what is the distance the squirrel traveled?

Distance is simply the total amount traveled. 3.4+6.9+5.2=15.5 meters traveled. Displacement would be the distance traveled from the original point, which would be completely different!

14.15 Just add all of the miles the squirrel ran.
