How are signals sent from one neuron to another by jumping across a tiny space or?

Transmitted via neurotransmitters. There is a gap between two neurons. This place where the axon meets with dendrite is callde synapse. Neurotransmitters which are chemicals help transmit the signals from axon to dentrite. Calcium ions play major role in this process.
