The common thing between what is common Discretion, Strength, Five Wits, and Beauty is that they are directed by God to forsake Everyman. The main conflict of the play led me to this answer, to be more exact: God was angry at people as they only focus on prosperity and don't even think about sins. Therefore, God sends Death to go to Everyman and take him on the pilgrimage towards judgement.
