Suppose you are going to graph the data in the table below. What data should be represented on each axis, and what should the increments be?

Hours Distance traveled (miles)
1 60
2 35
3 45
4 65
5 55
6 62
7 12
8 65 x-axis: miles in increments of 15; y-axis: hours in increments of 5 x-axis: miles in increments of 5; y-axis: hours in increments of 1 x-axis: hours in increments of 5; y-axis: miles in increments of 15 x-axis: hours in increments of 1; y-axis: miles in increments of 5

x-axis: hours in increments of 1; y-axis: miles in increments of 5

You always want the constant numbers such as time on the x-axis
And since your y values are all large numbers and multiples of 5, it makes sense to use increments of 5
