A heterogeneous mixture is a mixture that has non-uniform composition, which means that it is composed of components that aren't uniform. In a heterogeneous mixture the substances are not in any sort of fixed ratio, the substances maintain their own individual properties and teh substances can be removed without changing them on the chemical level.
