Alexander Hamilton argued for a national bank because it would provide a place to put all of the public funds in the newly formed, United States. It would also the entire nation to have the same paper currency, which would solve a lot of confusion and help better stabilize the economy. Overall, creating a national bank would help to unify the states together more because it would make sure that all of the state's economies were the same.
