Polar PERIPHERAL MEMBRANE PROTEINS are typically found attached to the outside of a membrane.
The membrane is majorly made up of phospholipids, which are bilayer in nature, having a polar head and a non polar tail. There are two types of membrane proteins; the integral and the peripheral protein. The peripheral protein is usually found on the outside of the membrane, attached to the polar head of the phospholipid bilayer.
