In Greek sculpture the contrapposto is invented, to designate a harmonic opposition of the different parts of the body in movement. One of the Greek artists to create these sculptures was Praxiteles in his particular work called "Praxiteles curve". Also, the first appearance of this method in the sculpture was in the Efebo of Kritios (490 a.), Work of the Athenian sculptor Kritios, soon was developing this technique.
