You return 5 shirts. You do this by dividing -30.60 by 6.12. When you do this you get your answer as five shirts.

You returned 5 shirts. To determine how many shirts were returned, just divide the amount of money charged back to your credit card by the amount attributed to each shirt. The fact that the dollar figures simply means that you're gaining money back into your credit card instead of spending money from your credit card. So -$30.60 / -$6.12 = 5 So you returned a total of 5 shirts.
