We want to solve the equation:
\displaystyle{ 10p+5=18p-62

The first thing we do, is bring the same terms to the 2 sides of the equation,

Write all p's in the left side, and all the numbers in the right side,

keeping in mind that the sign of the p's or numbers which move, has to change:

The equation becomes:

\displaystyle{ 10p-18p=-62-5

\displaystyle{ -8p=-67

divide both sides by -8:

\displaystyle{ p= (-67)/(-8)= 8.375\approx8.4

Answer: 8.4
