Jet streams are air currents which are fast flowing and narrow and are found in the atmosphere of various planets including our home, mother Earth. It was a Japanese Meteorologist who is known to have discovered a jet stream in 1920s. He tracked the winds with weather balloons and that same method is commonly used even today.
