The similarities between DNA and RNA are the following.
Both (DNA and RNA) nucleotides contains the nitrogenous bases cytosine, adenine, and guanine.
They both also can transport messages, act as enzymes and as part of ribosomes.
They both also contain phosphate groups on their respective nucleotides.
