4 (2r-1) = - 2 (3r + 16)
Distribute 4 and 2 in brackets
8r-4 = -6r-32
8r+6r = -32+4
14r = -28
r = -28/14
r = -2

4(2r - 1) = -2(3r + 16)...distribute thru the parenthesis
8r - 4 = -6r - 32
8r + 6r = -32 + 4
14r = - 28
r = -28/14
r = -2 <===
