John is extremely social. Whenever we go to parties together, he flies from person to person, busily making friends with everyone. Which figure of speech, or literary device, is the author using in the passage?

The terming "He flies" makes me think that it would be Hyperbole, since they are exaggerating how John moves around the room

The author is using metaphor because it is comparing John like a bird "he flies from person to person, busily making friends with everyone." hope this helps :)
