Why is a claim supported by a great variety of data more trustworthy than a claim made by an individual person?

One person's opinion is not enough to make a claim trustworthy, because that may not be how many people see it. It is better to get a lot of people's claims (including some prestigious people's when it comes to the topic) to make your argument strong

hope this helps
