1st number = x

2nd number = x-4

3rd number = 4x

now you have x + x-4 +4x = 62

combine like terms

6x-4 = 62

add 4 to each side

6x = 66

divide both sides by 6

x = 66/6 = 11

1st number = 11

2nd number = 11-4 = 7

3rd number = 4*11 = 44

11+7+44 = 62
