Regional differences developed in colonies during the pre-Revolutionary period, because they found out that some of them were more related to each other than others. For example, the Northern colonies found out that their economy was built based on fishes, while the southern, cotton and tobacco. Because of this, they usually grouped together and helped each other inside the group, and didn't really care for the other groups until the Revolutionary War period

hope this helps

The regional differences from this period still affect our nation today, because those states are still close to some and alittle distant from others
