In the 1870s, despite social improvements and slow economic recovery due to the post-civil war economic crisis, the inhabitants of the southern states were tired of the violence of the South for 1877. It was about recovering life which was before, but was useless, and most people asked the federal government to improve their lives in the South. The same thing is happening in Afghanistan, it was first sought that Americans leave the Afghan country, but after two years of violence, instability and a government that can't control the rebellions, Afghans themselves have asked Washington for help again. Thus, in both cases, American soldiers play an important role in maintaining order in the chaotic new governments.
