|2x - 3| +4 = 17
Subtract 4
|2x - 3| = 13
Whatever is inside the Absolute must equal 13. Imagine it in our head, x = -5 is one solution, because it creates |-13| which becomes positive. Then we have x = 8, because that forms |16 - 3| = |13| = 13
