When you go shopping and there's a sale, you would want to check the price of an item you want to buy after the sale. So you would convert the percent that the store says you get off, and convert it to a decimal. Then you use the decimal and multiply it with the original price. What you get from that, subtract from the original price. Now you have the price with the discount. AND you just converted a percent to a decimal in real life. Lol I always do this when I go shopping
