In Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis, Gregor's sister, Grete, asks their mother to help her remove furniture from Gregor's bedroom so he will have more room to move around. However, Gregor's mother refuses to do so. Why doesn't she want to remove the furniture from his room?

A) She feels that her husband would disapprove.
B) She believes Gregor will need the furniture when he becomes human again.
C) She merely wants to oppose her daughter's idea.
D) She suffers from asthma and doesn't want to exert herself.

This is at the point when Gregor's mother still feels sympathetic for her son. She argues that removing his furniture will only validate his new bug identity. She wants to keep the symbols of his humanity in his room.

I got B. She believes Gregor will need the furniture when he becomes human again.
Hope this helps! :D
