Sharecropping is a form of agriculture in which a landowner allows a tenant to use the land in return for a share of the crops produced on their portion of land (Wikipedia).
So that means workers would be payed with a portion of the food they produce. This would help both groups of people. The workers would get food and the owners would have workers who were motivated.
Hope this helps! Please let me know if I'm wrong :)

Answer:

The system often trapped laborers in a sequence of debt and credence while empowering landowners to benefit from workers’ hard work, is the right answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

A method of agriculture in which a landowner authorizes a tenant to operate the land in return for a share of the yields produced on their portion of the land is identified as the system of Sharecropping. This practice became widespread in the South as a response to the economic disruption caused by the elimination of slavery throughout the Reconstruction Era. This system frequently resulted in a situation where the laborers were trapped in a cycle of debt subordination while empowering landowners to benefit from workers’ hard work.
