50 ml of water is poured into a beaker. 50 ml of another liquid is poured into the same beaker. The beaker is left undisturbed for some time. After some time, it is observed that the liquid forms a clear layer on top of water. If the density of water is 1 g/cc, what could be the density of the second liquid? A) 0.8 g/cc B) 1 g/cc C) 1.8 g/cc D) 1.12 g/cc

A liquid will float if it's density is lower than water's.
So if the density is lower than 1.0 it will float on top of the water.

So because the liquid floats, the density is less than 1.0

So A) 0.8 g/cc is the answer
