The base and the height of a rectangle are represented by the expressions below.

Base= x+4 Height= x-6

The perimeter of the rectangle 88 units. Find the lengths of the base and the height of the rectangle.

Perimeter of rectangle=2l+2w
l=x-6 w=x+4
2(x+4) + 2(x-6)=88
2x+8+2x-12=88
4x-4=88
4x=88+4
4x=92
x=92/4=23
Base= x+4=23+4=27
Height=x-6=23-6= 17
