Battle at Antietam was held in between September 16 and 18 whose result was inconclusive. It was one of the bloodiest battle which resulted in devastating causalities. 2. On September 22nd Preliminary Emancipation was issued by President Lincoln, which encompasses to free any slaves held captive by the union army in the new territory.
