Set up an equation
1/2x+6=2/3x

Take all x's to one side & constants to other
1/2x-2/3x=-6

Subtract by getting a common denominator
-1/6x=-6

Divide both sides by -1/6
x=36

Find a number such that 6 more than one-half the number is two-thirds the number
