A medical assistant can put a nervous patient at ease by being reassuring. Also by explaining the procedure there doing and why.

There are several skills that a medical assistant can exercise in order to put a patient at ease when the patient is nervous about an office visit or a procedure. First, the medical assistant should talk to the patient calmly, in order to avoid alarming him. Moreover, the medical assistant should clarify any doubts and answer any questions that the patient may have. Finally, the medical assistant should try to show empathy and understanding while performing all of these tasks.
