500 + 300 - 82 - 61 = 657 roses and tulips planted. However, we are unsure of how many PLANTS he put in his garden as we only know about the roses and tulips.

Answer with Step-by-step explanation:

Nathan bought 500 roses and 300 tulips for his garden.

After he planted his garden he had 82 roses and 61 tulips left over.

That means he planted (500-82) roses

and (300-61) tulips.

That means he planted 418 roses

and 239 tulips.

Total plants he planted=657

Hence, total plants Nathan put in his garden is:

657
