Why should psychology question the results of an experiment that they have conducted for the first time?

There can be confounding variables that need to be reviewed. The results also could have been accidental, so they need to be tested to ensure there is real evidence behind the results.

Psychologist have a duty to question first time results for accuracy and repetitive results.They need to determine if there were any mistakes committed during the initial testing, if any outside variable contributed to the outcome, and most importantly that the outcome is the same or similar in multiple experiments.
