To solve this problem you just need to first convert the feet per second into feet per hour. So multiple the speed of the pig by 60 (to get feet per minute) and then 60 again (to get feet per hour). So



fph = 2 * 60 * 60 = 120 * 60 = 7200



Now that we know the pig travels 7200 feet per hour, we need to convert that to miles per hour. You do this by dividing the feet per hour by the number of feet in a mile which is 5280. So

mph = 7200 / 5280 = 1.363636....



Therefore the pig moves at 1.36 miles per hour (rounded to the nearest one hundredth of a mile per hour).
