A car can travel 476 miles on 14 gallons of gas. Write an equation relating the distance to the number of gallons. How many gallons of gas does this car need to travel 578 miles?

14gallons = 476 miles
1 mile= 14÷476= 1/34
578 miles= 578× 1/34= 17 gallons
