Rory is staying in a cabin on a hill 300 feet above sea level. She walks down the hill to the water’s edge. The equation of her average change in elevation over time is e = 300 – 10t, where t is the time in minutes since she left the cabin, and e is her elevation with regard to sea level. Which values are viable points, and what are their values in the table relating t and e?

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that Rory is staying in a cabin on a hill 300 feet above sea level.

She walks down the hill to the water’s edge.

The equation of her average change in elevation over time is

e = 300 – 10t,

t= time in minutes

e = elevation

We can say that e cannot be negative

so we can have
0=300-10t as extreme value

t=30 minutes can be the maximum time and minimum time is obviously 0.

Thus t can take values between 0 and 30.

e (30) = 0 and e(0) = 300

So e can take values from 0 to 300
