The answer to this question is: entire ecosystems are being destroyed

In order to achieve a new species, current species have to survive for thousands of years and develop new and better features over that time in order to make it easier for them to adapt.
But our environmental condition today is really worrisome due many irresponsible destruction that is made in the name of profit, which endanger a lot of species
