Typically the skin will be cool and dry, except in cases of immersion in fluids, with mild hypothermia. Exposed skin may begin to turn purple and puffy once core body temperature falls below 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The patient will typically shiver if they have mild hypothermia only ceasing to do so after their core body temperature has fallen below 93 degrees Fahrenheit.
