how did explorers from France play and important role in the colonization of the southeastern United States

They were able to trade with the Native Americans in the South. French colonizers were able to trade with pelt and fur with the Natives. Aside from that, they were to influence some of the Native Americans to convert to their religion. Some of these Natives became close allies of France as they were able to establish their colony in the Southeast part of North America
