Navigational charts are used to navigate. Generally, they display current meteorological, hydrographic, and navigational conditions. These can also include lines of latitude and longitude, topographical information, locations of lighthouses or radio beacons, the location of underwater reefs, water depth, and even emergency alerts. They are imperative when plotting a safe course.
