What type of tissue protects bones in joints by preventing friction?

Cartilage is the tissue that covers the surface of a bone at the joint, cartilage helps reduce the friction of movement within a joint. Cartilage is an important part of the body it is a firm tissue but softer and more flexible than our bones cartilage is found in many parts of our body, e.g. knees, ankles and elbows.
