The golgi body are membrane bound organelle which are found in eurkaryotic cells. They are responsible for packaging of proteins in cells. The golgi body is made up of series of flattened, stacked pouches called cisternae. Protein must pass through these cisternae as they move form the endoplasmic reticulum to their destination via golgi body. As they move through the series of the cisternae, they are appropriately modified and packaged for various destinations within the cell.
