Many causes are responsible for lack of clean water. Water becomes polluted as a result of human factors. Humans pollute water in many ways, these include:
1. discharging of waste products from industries into the water bodies.
2. The emptying of sewage into water bodies
3. Eutrophication caused by man when water erosion carried chemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides into water bodies.
4. The occurrence of oil spillage in waters during crude oil extraction.
5. over use of water for recreational activities without making any effort to restore the water to their original state.
