When do I compare real-world numbers?

The first aim of the numerations and numbers in general is to be able to compare things and to know what is bigger and what is smaller.
We compare numbers every day in our daily routine. For example: on the market, we compare the price of the products (the price of the apples for example refers to a real-world number). Or we compare the temperature during the day and during the night, which is also a real-world number.
