I will compare hatha yoga to Hinduism approach to the concept of prayer.
Hatha yoga followers conducted their prayer in order to achieve peace and harmony for their inner self.
Hinduism followers, on the other hand, conducted their prayer to make their Gods happy and will not punish them with certain disasters if they somehow displeased them.
