How does drinking on an empty stomach affect peak blood alcohol concentration?

Having to drink alcohol without having to ingest any type of food could cause a person to achieve peak blood alcohol levels. If the person has consume food with his or her stomach full, the peak alcohol level will not be as high compared to those who have an empty stomach who has ingested alcohol.
