How did the actions of the Paris Commune move the French Revolution to a more radical stage?

They were an extreme leftist group that captured the king and took the power for the people. There was a power struggle between the French loyalists and the communards and many historians believe that the communards government was a full dictatorship of the proletariat just like Marx had envisioned it.
